七夕（サロン・ド・エシア）報告

　８月７日の七夕サロンは、大人２２人、子ども１２人で、楽しく遊びました。カナダのアリスさん、浴衣がとってもお似合いでした。エジプトのオマル君とノーランちゃん、浴衣で思いっきり駆け回って、楽しそうでした。フィリピンのベロニカさんとエイジ君、短冊の願いが叶うといいですね。中国のアズグリさん、すてきなご主人とご一緒でお幸せそうでした。

　いろいろ準備してくださった横山さん、お手伝いしてくださった皆様（参加者全員）、本当にありがとうございました。七夕のうたの大合唱（？）、きっと星に届いたことでしょう。（葛西恵美子さん）

Report on Salon de ECIEA's "Tanabata"

August 7th was the day of the Star Festival "Tanabata." Twenty two adults and 12 children gathered and had a good time at the Ebetsu International Center. Alisa from Canada seemed to be at ease in her yukata and Omar and Nouran, from Egypt, had fun in their yukatas running around the decorated bamboo branches. I hope that the "tanzaku" wishes of Veronica and her son Eiji, from thePhilippines, are fulfilled. Azuguri from China seemed happy with her good husband. Thanks very much to Yokoyama-san for preparing the "Tanabata" celebration, and to all of those who attended. A big chorus of Tanabata songs must reach the stars! (Ms. Kasai, August 8)

フリーマーケット参加報告

　8月22日と9月2日にフリーマーケットに参加しました。いずれもいいお天気に恵まれ、正味3時間程度の出品でしたが、けっこうよく売れました。こんなもの売れるかなというものも売れるもので、自分のガラクタは他人のタカラモノだったりします。おもしろいものです。出品物をご寄付いただいた皆様、ありがとうございました。　当日お手伝いくださった皆さん、お疲れ様でした。なお、浅見さんから3,000円のご寄付をいただきました。ありがとうございました。いずれもタイ難民支援として使わせていただく予定ですが、詳しいことは後日まとめてご報告いたします。　収入は以下の通りでした。8月22日　18,390円/　9月 2日　 9,460円　　(佐藤　久恵さん)

Report on Flea Market

ECIEA had a shop at flea markets held on Aug. 22nd and Sep. 2nd.Luckily being blessed with fine weather on both days, sales were fairly strong. It's quite interesting that unwanted things (or even trash!) to someone can　can be treasure to another person. We want to extend a huge Thank You to everyone who supported us, including those who brought us things to sell, volunteer staff who helped with the sale of the goods, and Ms. Asami who donated 3,000yen. Thank you all! All proceeds will be used to support those in need of assistance in　Thailand. Details will be reported later.　Proceeds are: Aug. 22nd 18,390yen and Sep. 2nd 9,460yen　　　(Ms. Hisae Sato)

フリーマーケット3度目の参加について

今回を今年の最後として再度フリマに参加します。ご自宅にある不用品をご寄付ください。10月7～14日の間江別国際センターの手前の物置をお借りできることになりましたので、そちらにお持ちください。持参物には「エシアフリマ用」などとわかるように明記してください。持参できない場合はお問い合わせください。　また、当日のお手伝いも募集します。多分1時頃までかなと考えていますが、数時間のお手伝いでもけっこうです。ご連絡をお待ちします。

Upcoming Flea Market

We will have one more shop at a flea market this year. We would like you to bring your gently used goods to the Ebetsu International Center between October 7th and 14th. Please indicate "For ECIEA" on a note attached to your items. We are now actively recruiting staff volunteers to help with the sale of the goods.

市民活動センターオープニング報告

　平成18年9月2日江別市民活動センターがオープンしました。平成16年2月に江別市からの呼びかけに約５０の団体、個人が参加し懇談会がスタートしました。情報、場（活動の場所）をメインテーマとして３０回以上の話し合いが続き、その中で市の所有で空いている建物を借りる事が出来そうなことがわかり、その為に有志１０人で「NPO法人えべつ協働ねっとわーく」を立ち上げました。建物は市から賃借し、NPO法人が管理、運営します。　オープン当日は市長のテープカットがあり、７団体が出店してのフリマも開催されました。パネル展では太田さんがエシアの活動内容を発表しました。翌３日は野菜販売もあり、エシアの太田さん、林さんが「なるこクラブ」さんのお手伝いをしました。

２日間で約３５０人が参加しました。　エシアとしての活用方法は今後みんなで考え、「江別市民活動センター」を維持していきたいものです。私は副センター長になりましたが、エシアの皆さんのご協力無しではやっていけません。これからも皆さんの支援、協力をお願いいたします。（山岸肇さん）

Ribbon-Cutting at the Ebetsu Civic Activity Support Center

On Sept 2, 2006, the Ebetsu Civil Activity Support Center was officially opened. Prior to the opening, Fifty civil groups attended the meetings called by the city. Over 30 preparatory gatherings took place during which information and locations were discussed. Eventually ten persons arranged for the rental of a vacant city-owned building to be used by the Ebetsu Kyoudou Network.. On opening day, there was a ribbon-cutting by Mayor Ogawa.

Ms. Ota presented ECIEA's activities at a panel display. There was a flea market, and fresh vegetables were sold by the Naruko Club. Three hundred and fifty people came to the opening event. We are now going to consider how we can best utilize the center. I am an official at the center and hope for your cooperation. (3)ホームステイミーティングとサロン・ド・エシアに参加して

　9月11日HSミーティングとサロンが行われました。ミーティングと言う名のポットラックでの集まり。今回はお弁当に役立つレシピ交換をしながらお料理もいただいて大満足でした。　引き続きサロンでは、インドネシアのお汁粉を頂きながら世界市民の集いのイベントの話し合いをしました。何でもおいしい今日この頃、「天高く私肥ゆる秋」？楽しく和やかなひとときでした。（宮田智香子さん）

(4) 倍花女子大生を受け入れて

　一目見て私は「チャン・ツィーに似ているわ！」とつぶやいていました。長い黒髪に愛らしい顔立ちで、少しはずかしがり屋のイム・へヨンさん。小学三年の長男は、緊張して日本語をよく聞き取れないへヨンさんにお構いなしに話しかけたり、大切にしているものを見せて説明したり、どんどん自分のペースに巻き込みます。そして、いつの間にかゲームの相手をさせているのでした。へヨンさん、長女、私の三人で札幌に出かけステラプレイス、パセオ、アピアなどでショッピングを楽しみました。（２日続けて行きました！）夜には家の前で花火をしました。（これも２日続けて！）今までの受け入れと違ったのは一度も外食をしなかった事です。　自宅で家族の一員として普通に日常を過ごし、一緒に日本食を食べました。ヘヨンさんは浴衣がすごく似合っていたので、浴衣姿でお散歩にも出かけました。我家の心温まる思い出です。ヘヨンさんは私たちに夏の余韻を残してくれました。ありがとう。また会えたらいいなあー。（植木あけみさん）

From Home Stay Committee

(1) Thank you very much to those of who accepted the role of homestay hosts. The students from Beifa College in Korea visited the Uekis, the Kasais, the Kyouzukas, and the Yamashitas.

(2) We will host interns from Colombia Oct. 7th and 8th.

(3) Report on Home Stay Meeting and Salon de ECIEA

On Sep. 11th, I attended Home Stay Meeting and Salon de ECIEA. At the meeting we had a pot luck party. What made me very satisfied was a useful recipe for "obento" (lunch box). Then I took part in the Salon. At the Salon, we talked about the World Fest on Oct. 24th over Indonesian "oshiruko". I had a great time. (Ms. Chikako Miyata)

(4) Hosting a Student from Beifa College

My first impression of Ms. Lim Hai Young was that she resembled Zhang Ziyi (a famous Chinese actress). She was a shy and cute Korean student. My son, who is in the third grade in elementary school, never hesitated to talk to her in Japanese. He explained about his treasure and ended up playing a video game with her.

Her hesitation thawed with his warm and friendly attitude. During her stay, we twice went to Sapporo to enjoy shopping, and twice shot off fireworks in our yard. We concentrated on Japanese cuisine and treated Lim Hai Young as a family member. We went for a walk, Lim in yukata. She looked nice in it. Time with her is one of our family's treasured memories. みんなおいでよ世界市民の集い２００６

「みんなおいでよ世界市民の集い」は、今年で１０周年を迎えます。今年の「集い」は、下記の日程で行われます。エシアでは、民族衣装のファッションショーと料理を担当する事になりました。　当日、世界の民族衣装のモデルをしてくれる方、料理の販売をしてくださる方、そしてお手伝いしてくださる方を募集しております。申し込みは、横山さんまたは山下さんまで。

日時：１０月２２日(日)１２時３０分～

場所：野幌公民館

内容：世界の料理、日本の文化、ハロウィン、世界の音楽、世界の民族衣装など

2006 Ebetsu World Festival

This year we will celebrate the 10th annual Ebetsu World Festival! ECIEA will host "Ethnic Fashion Show" and "International Cuisine". We need volunteer models, cuisine-stand vendors and more! If you are interested in participating and/or helping at this exciting event, please call Ms. Yokoyama or Ms. Yamashita .

世界少年野球大会参加者との一日

　７月３０日、野幌の町がなるこ踊りでにぎわっており、夏祭りを盛り上げるかのような熱ーい太陽の下に世界少年野球大会出場選手たちを市民体育館前に出迎えました。　参加国は日本を入れて１８カ国、１０歳から１１歳の少年・少女たち１００名が午前中の親善試合（江別市内少年野球チームと韓国チーム）の観戦を終えてきたそうです。

　各団体から参加したボランテアは、直接子どもたちと接触するというよりは祭り会場を安全に誘導するといった感じでしたが、共に参加された方々と交流ができてよかったと思います。ちょっぴりですが、ECIEAの話などもでき、葛西さんはしっかりと会員ゲットをなさったのではないかしら？　豊太鼓やよさこい踊りを共に楽しんだ後、１００年記念塔に向かう子どもたちの乗ったバス４台に手を振り、江別での交流は終わりました。（鈴木　真由美さん）

A Day with Participants of World Children's Baseball Fair

On July 30th, a blazing hot summer day, we welcomed 100 boys and girls from 18 countries in front of the Ebetsu City Gymnasium. The children were 10- and 11-year-old athletes and had enjoyed watching an exchange game between Ebetsu and Korean teams prior to their arrival. Volunteers from several associations seemed so busy showing kids around the summer festival site safely that they had little time for interaction with the athletes. Luckily we were able to share info about the ECIEA with the volunteers and Ms. Kasai may have recruited some new members. We had a great time playing the 'Yutaka-daiko' drums and dancing 'Yosakoi' together. After that, we saw the kids headed for the Centennial Memorial Tower in Nopporo Forest Park.. (Ms. Mayumi Suzuki)
